I have a Haltech (but not on a 1JZ, its on a 4AGTE), its as good as any other ECU as far as tuning mixtures & ignition at all load/rpm points, however, don't be caught up by Haltech's claims of being able to run in closed loop mode, or controlling a stepper style idle control, as neither of these functions are particularly flash...

Autronic have a lot more "adjustability" for the auxiliary items such as those above, but doesnt have great support, so dont go for it unless you plan to have it installed, setup & tuned by a reputable workshop with experience on autronic, such as Ray Hall or Quickfit Motorsports.

Haltech on the other hand is very simple to understand, and the software is simple to use/tune. All of the sensors are based on GM Delco parts also, they they are relatively inexpensive to replace. I have had excellent support & tuning service from J.E.M also.
