Wed, 28 August 2002 01:44 RA23 Sean: maybe you can answer this for me, i'm not trying to be rude or critical, its just something i never understood about workshops. Why does it matter if other 'small jobs' come into a workshop while your car is there for a big job? If you book your car in for something like a conversion, why cant the time be dedicated to finishing that job, as its a guaranteed source of [large] income for the workshop? Why should a small job coming in the door un-announced (without a pre-booking) take preference over completing the conversion job?? I can understand that workshops dont want to turn any customer away because they are too busy, and risk never seeing them again, but why piss off the bloke who's car was quoted 3 weeks and has been sitting idle for the best part of two months or more? surely you would rather keep a high service level standard for the guy paying you $4k for the conversion, instead of keeping a $50 customer happy by doing his little job for him on the spot? remember, this isnt a personal dig at you! I'm just sure that many people on here can relate to what i'm saying. Its all too common to have a job take more than double the time quoted. Cheers [Report message to a moderator]
