brasso would be a good place to start. it's cheap, and even if it doesn't remove the paint, it wont hurt the plastic (it's used to polish plastics, if you're fanatical, after sanding with 300/600grit sandpaper).
depends how bad your overspray is I guess - if it's speckles, definitly brasso. if it's more, maybe try the maguires clay (cant comment on it tho - never used it)
