you've got the stiff suspension that drifto's use, but you also need massive amounts of power so you can control how/when the car/kart breaks traction and wheel-spins, oh yeah, the slicks that karts normally use have too much grip so you'll have to re-think your tyre type - them baby racing slicks stick....
maybe one of them old Suziki 3-cyl 2-strokes might be the go? massive amount of power, and running it thru the power band would probably break any kind of traction 
speaking of looney kart activity - has anybody seen the guy drag-racing his kart at Willlowbank (Qld)? when i saw it, it was fuken hillarious, but fast! - tho is must be a truly frightening ride as the steering is so, so twitchy - and at high speed, a tiny twich results in kissing the wall with great gusto and energy...
