The 1jz would be awesome but it costs about 3x as much as a 1g swap. Also, no one in America has a 1g in their Supra, so I would be original. Also considering the reliability vs. the alternatives in my price range (the 7MGTE) the 1g makes perfect sense.
I hear there is an HKS big single kit. Somebody makes a stroker kit. and also a Trust TD04 upgrade kit for the 1g so it can't be all bad. And yes it'd be a lot easier on an American dyno.
Let's see... The 1g-gte and W55 + intake + full 3 inch exhaust + electronic boost controller (boosting 1 bar) + necessary supporting fuel mods (i.e. FPR, Pump, and FCON or Rebic LC) = 300 rwhp on an american dyno... or close to it don't u think?
