Well I have looked into both and the 1jz swap would definitely be more expensive. First of all the front clip is $2500 (US), then you have the steering rack, a new crossmember, new clutch, new radiator, (depending on the quality of your clip) a new fan set up, power steering lines... it adds up. However I know of a 1g "clip" for $600 and then all I would need would be to re-wire the harness which would be handled by my friend Mike Urbano. The 1g and W55 bolt right in with no need to change crossmember, motor mounts, steering rack or steering lines etc. It might be cheaper down under but in the states the 1j swap is going for about $4000 - $6000 (US). And I'm not that rich.
