The 1JZ runs a 24 tooth NE and G1 and G2 just like most late toyotas. The difference is the NE is actually generated by a 12 tooth wheel on the front of the crank, just behind balancer. (12 teeth on the crank is same as 24 on the cam).

G1 and G2 are generated by two lobes on the inlet cam and corresponding sensors in the side of the head, just below the cam cover. One is about half way down the cam and the other towards the rear of it.
