another (old farm) trick is to:
attach cheapo oil filter
fill the crankcase with desiel fuel,
let oil soak in for a while,
if engine is out of car, rock around to slosh this oil everywhere
remove spark plugs and squirt desiel fuel down into pots,
crank engine for a while to get the desiel flowing everywhere,
drain the fuel and allow to slowly drain out of oil galleries,
cleanup oily mess that came out of spark plugs,
replace filter,
fill with normal oil,
crank until oil flowing everywhere
refit spark plugs
fire up and run rich (but at fast idel only)
check oil pressure up
you'll probably need a spare battery and a charger as you'll flatten a bttery doing this
we even briefly ran engines with desiel as a lubricant to clean up oil residue from inside crankcase - tho not advised for minimal tolerance engines.
