I've used sewing machine oil. It's very thin, penetrates the rings easily and burns of in a minute or so when you start up. Only need about 25ml - buy a 100ml bottle and put one quarter in each cylinder. Rock the engine a bit if you can to move the oil around and then turn the engine over once or twice by hand so it lubricates the bore a bit as well.

that's the shit to use alright, it penetrates every little slit and bubble because it is very very thin.
i wouldn't worry about hydraulic lock if you use about a teaspoon in each cylinder, every day, for about a week prior to start up. and turn the engine over a few times every day too.
this way, you can be sure nothing cracks / breaks / shears dude to oil gunk and/or rusty rings.
