to be honest, i don't have the time..
basically, if you are looking for weight reduction only, use a few layers of light 'weight' glass, and be careful with how much resin you use. a fibreglass panel will not always be lighter than a steel panel!!!!
carbon and kevlar are usually lighter than steel (but not always) BUT are shiteloads stronger in some directions, and sometimes a lot stiffer. they are a structural material, and the weight savign comes from strength to weight ratio.
if this is for the road, i think you will find that non-steel panels are not legal... any car needing to survive crash tests, or with certain ADR's will NOT be legal with non-steel panels.
same for lexan windows...
it's a great idea, but check before you spend up big..
a single panel in glass might be a few hundred, in carbon/kevlar (done properly) a few thousand, but for a cheap shitty job to get the FULLY SIK look then it would be high hundreds at a guess...
and go on a diet too don't carry spare, half fill tank, don't carry friends etc etc
Cya, Stewart
oh yeah, if you want to find out more about glass, carbon, and kevlar, then use www.google.com heeeeaps of info around, particularly from manufacturers.
