Sun, 18 April 2004 00:24 Bluebird disc over drum rear brakes is a bolt up,only h/b cable will need shortening(b/bird cable).H165 diff came out in utes and is fairly tuff. Late model stanza struts and lower control arms with 120y caster rods will give a little more camber and hilux calipers with u12 pintara discs re-drilled to suit stanza hubbs. All offsets are correct exept bottom of caliper needs a couple of mm taken off so as not to foul the hat of the disc.Sunny booster and m/c is a nesesity to.Use std 1200 or after market front springs as stanza ones sit to tall.you can re-drill the LCA pivot hole in the cross member about 10mm outwards and up as much as pos if lowering ,and thread 10mm extra onto caster rods for more camber and caster, all this with decent shocks and it makes for a potent little pacage.Oh yea, a 120y sway bar is a 3mm upgrade to. All of this is cheap and easy.I did it all to my coupe and would have cost me around $500 .BTW, as you are planing to mod youre crossmember, Ide sell the ute one and use a std 1200 one as the ute ones (after 1975)allow you bolt a14 and a15 straight into a 1200 and I have heard of people paying up to $150 for them.
