To cut a long story short, if i leave the pcv hose connected i get a terrible squeal coming from the motor, but if i remove the pipe to squeal goes away. The motor was rebuilt with new rings and bearing about 10,000kms, perhaps theres not enough blow by due to the new rings.

When the hose is on and the motor is at idle, if i remove the oil cap is sounds very similar to opening a radiator while its still hot. But its not pressure, its vacumm.

Ive come to the conclusion that the inlet is trying to suck more oil/gases from crankshaft then there is in there causing this vacumm.

Perhaps the pcv is stuck open allowing full suction thru the pcv, perhaps if i found another twin cam motor that doesnt have this problem, pull their hose off and feel how much suction there is thru the pcv.

So the 4ag motors only have an outlet hose, no breather hose or pressure/vacumm release.

Steve
