I've used Ferodo on the Corolla once. I couldn't throw them out quick enough. They squeeled all the time and I had to take them out every week. At least the practice and pads probably take me 20 mins to do both sides.
Bendix make good pads. Just get the Metal Kings or Peformax for value for money stopping power. I've had them on 2 AE92 Corollas and the Camry for many many years and never failed me. Even on the track with the Camry. Works very well.
EBC of course will be the pick of the pads but it cost at least twice the price of the Bendix.
Changing the rears to disc won't change the world but will stop the huge dive if the drums loosen up. I've done the swap on the Camry (Check out the articles) and it's flatten the car under heavy braking. However it stops marginally quicker but the thing that was a big plus was that the parts cost me $150 for the swap. Also the fact I hate changing shoes on a drum.
