jazae86 Regular I supported Toymods Location: Adelaide Registered: May 2002	Re: Installing shocks Sun, 01 September 2002 13:37 A few trick's (for AE86 but may apply to other cars) Crack the damper rod nut (the nut inside the strut top) with the car on the ground. If you cannot undo it, drive to a shop with a rattle gun and ask him to. When installing the damper, fill the cartridge with oil before immersing the damper in it (well have the oil a few cm below the top of the damper cartridge). If you don't, what can happen is the air inside the strut will act as an insulator from the outside air. When the damper is doing its job, it will heat up, and not being able to dissapate much heat, it will die. Jaz [Report message to a moderator]
