dyno is just a convenient place (ie, rolling road rather than real road) to be able to check your AFR's.... if your AFR is correct, then power is good... sure there is a bit of mucking around, but with the turbo, as long as you are getting 12:1 under full load, you are usually fine..
where a dyno comes into it's own is when tuning the timing, as thats much harder to do on the road..
if you know someone with a wideband, or get your own (like the DIY-WB or the upcoming PWC), then you can tune on the road pretty well...
if you are doing major mods, and you are worried, just go on the dyno and get AFR graphs, rather than power curves.. if you plan on doing a few runs, then hopefully they will take care of you...
maybe talk to 10sec-rx7?? (dale) and see what he can do for you..
