ok well when someone designs and engine they have all the geometry perfect and so forth, when the engine gets put into mass production each component may have a slight bit of error in it, what blue printing does is they pull apart the engine and resize all the parts to make sure every single part of the engine is to its "blueprint" design and also make sure all the angles and so forth are to the specs on the blue print design papers.
