the ECU needs signals from the AFM and the TPS on the throttle body to calculate correct fueling for the engine ... as well as air and coolant tempreture - along with an ignition signal to work out RPM.

i'd stop trying to run the motor right now

without these two sensors working, when above idle there's no way the engine will get the right amount of fuel. if you keep this up, there's a chance you'll run the engine extremely lean and break/melt/damage something important - like a piston.
