18RG RA23 - Registering in Qld?

Hi guys,
I have an unregistered RA23 Celica that I am currently in the middle of sanding and painting. I also have an 18RGU that is ready for a complete rebuild and will be put into the Celica.
A question for all you people who have completed this mod, especially for those in QLD, have you come across any problems registering and getting your car approved? Did you need to get it engineered at all?
I've done a fair bit of searching through these forums about the conversion, and I've seen mixed responses of no engineering required, to inspections needed if above a 15% power increase, etc. Due to the nature of these forums, many of these posts were from people outside of Queensland, and the rules vary. I would just like to see what experiences any Queenslanders when doing this "conversion".
