Wed, 28 April 2004 05:06 I dont think the current forum will support a (automated) subscription system, in fact I cant think of any *free* forum-only software that will do it. The problem with charging for access is administration. There is also the expectation fof service availability when you pay for it. Some of the ideas I have seen pop-up here (and elsewhere) is: - Basic (read-only) access should be free. - The classifieds section should be subscription only. Many forums which move to a subscription only model also implement a sponsorship system where a new member does not have 'full' access until an existing member sponsors or verifies them. - Keep the fees low. - Toymods financial members should get free access as part of their membership fee. There are 5312 users on this forum currently, if only 10% of these pay $1 per month over $500 will flow into Toymods per month, which I am sure the board will put to good use. Keep in mind that someone, somewhere is paying for these forums. If you find them useful send some money Toymod's way. [Report message to a moderator]
