Believe it or not, although just about everyone says 'BDA' when they refer to the 2 litre cosworth engine that the shoved in the Mk 2 Escort, the BDA is actually the 1600 cosworth that they put into the Mk 1 Escort. The BDG is the 2 litre engine, everything is pretty much the same (head/crank etc) except the BDG has ~90mm bore as opposed to the BDA's ~ 85mm. And yes - it is a truly awesome engine! Love the sound of them at 9000rpm (sound a lot better than the 'Pinto' engines) [Report message to a moderator]
