any EB - EL has good fuel economy - parents did a run from melb to bris to melb again for 260 dollars

they are thirsty around town - but not overly so ..

very easy to drive - just need a few minor susp. upgrades to make them handle a treat too.

If you want power to Churn - fund yourself an XD or XE with a 351 on gas - youll have tyres that last about hmm - 10 minutes if you play too much Smile and it wont hurt your pocket to feed the beast

dollar for dollar it was cheaper to run my dads 6.2 litre ( rebored 351 ) fairlane on a 100 KM trip then it was to feed the celica for the same trip

Vl's are ok - but they have a tendany to erm Snap down the middle under load - cant tow for crap , and the bodywork leaves alot to be desired - Diffs and engines are good thanks to Nissan and borg warner - though the RB 6 is hampered ALOT by stupid holden design that doesnt allow sufficient coolign to the head due to a poorly placed radiator - hence lots have cracked heads

- but then again anything with a holden badge of that age really should be squished.
