Draven, in the late 50's early 60's I watched a guy re-groove the tyres on Dad's Hillman Minx! Picture this, a heavy duty soldering iron, with a steel hoop attached at the hot end. Get the iron hot, and push this tool into the rubber, follow the original tread pattern. I haven't seen one of these in years!, but some of the circuit race teams use this tool to turn slicks into intermediates! Perhaps an enterprising lad such as yourself, might be able to construct a suitable tip for a large soldering iron. Regards Chuck. [Report message to a moderator]
