i dont think calling him person x and then quoting his posts will keep him unknown .
people100 has done alot of work on the motor and intended it to go into his own car. He is selling it because he found a better deal (1ggte off charles maybe?? )
if there was a crack in the head and he bought a new reconditioned head wtf is the problem? If he bought a $250
reconed head instead of spending $500 wouldn't you do the same?
the old head is fine phil (mrDOHC) is rebuilding it now so its already had a pressure test to make sure its worth rebuilding.
But i understand your position i am a poor uni student too and if your that worried buy an engine locally so you can check it out yourself, or get someone to have a quick look at the motor. Im sure it could be put in a car turned over to check compression if you were a serious buyer.
as for your detective work dont give up ur day job
Daniel
