The camry actually handles pretty well, put some better springs and shocks and brake pads in and you'll be amazed. Those V6 engines rock as well - and with forced induction would be a true V8 eater.They rev so sweetly and quickly, and once you get used to the FWD can corner very well.
Have the camry's come out with an LSD yet? My parents had a widebody V6 camry auto(easily did 220 kph ) but even with the 144 kw engine would torque steer like a bitch, esp in the wet. If you're upping the power I'd try to get hold of an LSD (that is if toyota made them for that gearbox).
