Hi guys,
As a part of an ignition overhall. I'm changing the ballist resistor on the coil of an 18r-c. The problem i had was that the points were arching and I was getting misfires under load. I changed the points and the problem dissapeared. I'm changing the condensors and the ballist resistor. The only ballist esistor I can get is a universal one from Repco. This gives a different resistance then the toyota reccomended one for that coil. Will it cause a problem? The toyota rec is 1.2 -1.4. The uni one gives 2. ohms. Theres also a second plug for the distributor coded red instead of black, does anybody know what this is for? Thanks guys.
