Im with yellowrolla, frankly i doubt it to be valve stem seals, its more likely youve blown the head gasket with white smoke indicating water is mixing in the combustion chamber somehow.
IME worn stem seals will blow a little bluish smoke after idling for a while then drive off or if you floor it after coasting or as YR puts it ....
