Grant is spot on. My GZE AW11 that I bought over was $5200 on the road with 12 months rego. I went through all the steps that Grant has listed. The whole process takes around 3 months from finding a car in japan to putting the rego plates on australia. If the car is 15 years old that is.

Do some research through DOTARS. It is a gamble though, trusting the exporter. who is like 20000 klms away. But in the long run it pays off. Make sure you get your import approval before the car arrives at the dock or youre car will be CUBED!
