The boost on the std turbos on a 1g is controlled by the wastegate actuator on the side of the turbos. If you have been told that you need a controller to make the turbos make boost at all that is a load of crap. If you had a leak in the cooler pipes that could explain the boosting problem, and i think that from one of my motors i was told that 1gs ran around 180psi from the factory, i have a 1g on the shelf and i was told when i bought it that it was tested and ran 155-160psi so what you be getting seems rather low.
