how much?
<http://members.optushome.com.au/mkhala/red_celica/ budget.html>
and add up the sections on:
-TURBO INSTALL & SETUP
-RECO ENGINE, CLUTCH & TAILSHAFT
-ENGINE/EXH/MECHANICAL PARTS
but in a nutshell, you have to:
reduce the compression down to under 7.5:1 - safest way is for an engineer to machine out the head - a spacer plate between block & head might help but you'll be restricted to boost of say 5-7psi to avoid blowing gaskets and be more prone to pinging and detonation
make custom manifolds for exhaust and intake
decide how to fuel it (and after my last effort to drive in it, i'd strongly advise EFI - which involves even more custom stuff like injector ports, plenum, throttle body, etc)
decide what engine management is needed (ingition and fuel)
upgrade the cooling
upgrade the clutch and probably rebuild/refresh the gearbox
consider upgrading your brakes
OR.... get an already turbo/efi engine (18RGUE? 3T-GTE? 4AGTE? ...) and transplant it.
If you're not comfortable about DIY stuff, then take the easy road...
