the thing with some types of batteries (depending on the materials its made from - NiCa, LiIon, dunno which one) is that when you constantly charge them when not fully depleted, just say 1/4 full, they have a 'memory' effect, and the battery will 'think' that this level (1/4 full) is empty, and when its gets to 1/4 full, it will run out of juice and die, and the battery will not last as long as it should have.
thats why every now and then you should let your phone run down to empty battery until it turns off, and then charge, to get the most out of it.
