Nah, it's definitely not the 'stat, I tried getting a hottor one to try & solve my probs, but could not get one anywhere (anyone know of one?). I even forked out for a genuine toyota one, in the hope that it may open at a more acurate 82, but still no luck.
It runs a microtech MT8, which does pretty much the same as the standard ECU, and richen the mixture according to the coolant temperature, so it was running hella rich during winter. It's starting to not be such a problem now, at least I won't have to worry this summer.
I think it just comes down to my 4A-GE having a bigger radiator than it was ever meant to, and the cooling system being a bit too efficient.
