Physically installing the engine has cost very little - fortunately I have some friends with mad welding skillz. Apart from the new crossmember brackets, all that's required is Landcruiser rubber mounts which cost $80 brand new from memory. And if you're using the 2JZ-GE box, the whole lot will bolt in once you've got that sorted. Check my web site for details, I have a price list up there now.
I really don't know how long the W58 is going to last behind a 2JZ, but how you drive it will make a big difference. For example, drag racing will kill it in no time (high rpm launches are the best way to snap input shafts etc). If you drive it smoothly and don't abuse it, I reckon it will hold up OK. The clutch used will also have a significant impact - for example, a brass-button race clutch is very harsh on the drivetrain. That's why I'm going to use a conventional full face clutch with lots of clamp pressure.
