Fri, 14 May 2004 08:24 i have a spare 18rc lying around but it has no sender in it sorry otherwise i would have. You might not get a correct reading if water isn't getting to the sender or the coolant is flowing through too quickly. when i got mine it had no thermostat in it so it didn't rise much at all for the first half hour or so (water flowing too quickly). So maybe your best bet would be to go to autopro or similar and grab a new thermostat (8 bucks). And then make your way to U Pull It enter for 1 dollar, pull a sender unit off an 18 rc or similar and it probably wouldn't cost you more than 2 dollars. i will hunt around to see if i have a sender unit lying around (hopefully not the original broken one that was in my 18rg) and let you know by tuesday but by then you probably would have found one.
