Ok, this is how i got to the switch, and is the most explanatory way.

1. Take of the Wiper and Light Switch knobs.
2. Undo the nut on the Wiper and Light Switch's.
3. Under neath the dash, where the instruments are there are 3 screws.. undo these.
4. To the Bottom left of the steering column there will be 2 screws, one for the instrument
black dash and another for abit of interior, undo both of these.
5. To the Bottom right of the steering column there will be another 2 screws, one for the
speaker cover and another for the instrument black dash.
6. Undo the Speaker cover first to get to the 2nd screw, you will then have to put your
head under and you will see the screw hidden away, remove this.
7. Undo the wheel lock, drop the wheel.
8. Remove the Instrument Dash Black Cover, move it as far back as possible.
9. Unplug the cable to the demystify on the back hatch window.
10. Proceed to remove the switch, once remove, unplug that as well.

Soldering, propping time.

11. Take apart the bottom white plastic bit, there will be 2 clips either side, unclip them
with a small flat head screw driver.
12. You will now see the contact piece, clean it till it looks like new. A clean rag will
do fine.
13. By now you should be seeing the other side of the circuit board. Add solder or re heat
the old ones. There may be some points that have no solder (there was in my case). Get the
soldering iron and solder and put enough so it covers the whole point and gives contact.
Mix in new solder with old. You may also have to prop the circuit board up with a piece of
cardboard if it is getting contact.

14. Put the circuit board back, and clip the white plastic box back together.

Once you have done this, take the switch to the car, plug it in, and test if the dash
lights go on and off. do it as many times as you wish. the light switch should now be fixed.

15. Now reverse the steps, but before this, makes sure you put the switch in the right way.
If you find after woods its in the wrong way, you can easily remove the black dash piece
again, or leave as is for whenever your going to fix it.

I hope this helps, and gives some people a better idea of what to do.

Matt.
