DAMAGE PICS Sun, 16 May 2004 17:10 Shit man, that's pretty nasty. In this situation though a tailshaft loop would have done absolutely nada. Tailshaft loops must be mounted no further than 6" behind the front most uni joint, so if your tailshaft decides to snap any further back than the loop you'd better pray you're as lucky as the Stitt here! Don't get me wrong, I think tailshaft loops are a great idea, but they are only designed to prevent the shaft dropping down if the front uni breaks. Here's a pic of my tailshaft loop, it's without the gearbox installed but it gives you an idea of what they look like & where it goes in relation to the hole for the shifter.
