Hrm...hijack... The FE head has a gear running the exhaust cam, whereas the exhaust and intake cam are both driven by belt in the GE head. The cam on the FE looks rather tame too. Still - the approach angle of the 5S would be greater than that of the 3S so it should have the longer skirt? The crank and rods are slightly different on the 5S, the only obvious physical difference is the larger big-end diameter for the 5S, and the longer stroke for the 5S crank. The gudgeon pins are the same size, rod length is the same. I've asked this elsewhere, but how do you test a crank's strength? I'm guessing a crank won't survive any procedure designed to test it's strength...but there's alot to it - torsional strength, maximum force on the big end journal etc etc?
