Yup, I've (still) got big temp gauge issues... Replaced sender, dash, etc. but it still starts off on cold, then about 30 seconds later goes to full roast position, and stays there. The engine is running at normal temp, the gauge goes down to cold if you pull the wire off, the sender (seemingly) checks out OK with a multimeter (I've replaced it 3 times, too), and if you leave the sensor out of the housing, just connect with to the wire with an earth clipped to the side of it, it reads cold (as it should!). Still got me buggered!
