There are some good example of stock RA28's out there that the older generation own, but don't relise the classic value of what they own. I've found several very good stock example in the last few years that were picked up for a bargin with a token gesture rego left on them. But generally on average finding a rust free body is getting harder by the year. If you inclined to fully rebuild and remove all the rust (and do a good job of it) alot of the value of the car lies there.
A standard RA28 in average+ condition will currently fetch in the realm of $1500-$3000,
A standard RA28 with twin cam engine conversion will fetch about $500-$1000 more based on the original condition of the car.
Ra28's with 1G inline 6 turbo conversions (engineered) will start from the $6000 mark and go up to $10,000.
and at the showy end of the scale they can go for up to $15,000+
If you own them and or are building one you'll find out what parts are getting harder to get and scour wreckers for these parts in good nick and stockpile them for future use. (or at least I do!)
And sometime you just get a bargin you just can't pass up
