Sun, 23 May 2004 06:05 the gen 3 engine is oct 93 onwards. the crank is different steel to earlier ones. they seem less prone to cracking, but none of them survive high boost for long. all of the highly boosted 3SG we dismantle have cracked cranks. we make steel main caps and stiffners to help reduce this. the gen 2 and 3 turbo rods are identical.
