this is why they are trying to keep costs down, so that the not-so big budget teams have a chance
although i have heard that since the introduction of the single engine rule, which made things cheaper for other teams, the big teams like ferrari have just been spending the same amount, just in other places. they aparently now have a mobile labratory or something that they can test all kinds of things such as engine oil, engine wear, to accomadate the single engine. so i guess if they are trying to keep costs down, its not really working.
personally, i do not care too much for technical adavncement, even when it comes to my own car. it is definatley a good thing, but should not control the sport. i just want it fast enough to be a little competitive, and then i want to enjoy driving it hard on the race track for as long as possible. i think all the motorsport technology should definatley be second in line to the true nature of motorsport, which is in my opinion is the competition and the pursuit of getting fastest times with the machinery you are given.
