low comp 16V pistons will work but the head will no longer be non interferance, i assume you are planning a turbo?, as long as you get the cam timming right there wont be an issue if you are after the low comp 16V pistons send me a PM i may be able to help you out with pricing.
as long as you are carefull with the boost there is no need to change the rods and crank, standard they are fairly strong items.
