Hey dude...
You have a few options in my opinion.
You "Could" fix your current engine.. But to do it properly your going to need a full Gasket kit.. Yes i would use genuine ones.. after all the stuffing around and work its not worth it..
I would just buy a import 4age for around $600-700 i believe and replace it.
To do the gasket properly you would really need to get the head decked and crack tested.. You wouldnt want to do all the work and then find out your head is cracked.. Also its a pain in the ass to clean all the Creamy goop from your engine..
Just replace in man..
