Yeah, checked my Chilton's manual last night and it makes no mention of a gasket, instead it tells you to apply RTV gasket material. So it was probably done that way from the factory.

I guess the cork gasket for the 3SFE is there in case people have a preference for those.

So what's better? Or is it more down to personal preference?
