G'day,
The engineer looked at the and they fitted nice with no clearance dramas... so he said ok... the tyre size is also listed on my engineering certificate.
I have xt130 corona struts with four piston calipers and ventilated discs on the front.... though you are right... the 23,28 and 40 celica struts as well as the corona struts will be taller than what you have....
i don't know if there is anyway you will get room to fit 8in wide wheels at the front, mine a 7in and the is f#*$ all room left... maybe if you go to coilover front suspension.
