Well after some reading, searching and speaking to people, it sounds like a good idea to get some more cold air to my 3S-GE.
My thoughts were to run some kind of ducting from one of the side vents(as many SW20 owners do) to the airbox. I'm not too keen on running a pod filter, and the current standard airbox has a HKS filter in there.
So I was going to get 2-4" piping(depending on what fits), and connect it(somehow) near a side vent. Using a router, cut an appropriate hole in the bottom/side/top of the airbox and run the ducting into that.
That should/would get more cold air into the engine? This should increase performance a little bearing in mind I've got a high flow cat and dual(duh..) 2 1/4" exhausts.
I've also read that there is a small resonator box near or as part of the airbox, can this safely be removed? Does it need to be removed? I'm guessing this kind of mod is going to reduce fuel efficiency, give increased throttle response and a nice induction noise?
So does that make any sense? If I've already got this HKS filter in the standard box will running all this ducting be worth it?
