I'm in the process of considering how I'm going to mount some splits in my RA23. Kick panels would work alright, there is a decent amount of room there, but I don't like people kicking them. The only way you are going to fit speakers on your doors without cutting is by making some fiberglass door pods. These will put the speaker out a fair bit, probably around 8-10cm, depending on what angle you mount them at. The pods would probably extend along the door until they could vent into the nearest hole, otherwise you'll loose a bit of midbass.
My other options was to cut into the door in a tasteful way and in a position where there isn't much in the way of structural stuff. You could probably weld in some supports around the hole for peace of mind if you are worrie about the structure. The hole would't need to be any bigger than the size of the magnet. Doing this would allow you to mount the speakers in a little more, with possibly only 5-7cm out from the original trim. Also, the hole directly behind the midrange would be great for venting.
You could probably manage this with 3" holesaw rather than hacking at it with a hacksaw. It would definately leave a nicer finish. Make sure you mount your speaker to some MDF, then screw the MDF to the door.
Pods will be the way to go, but if you don't want them sticking too far into your car, you will need to start cutting.
