Buy Andrew Vibert's Rolla (CVAP) thing is a missile!! KE30 with 2TG, won VRC P3 last year, won just about every rally it entered, and I think he was looking at some thing newer.
I also know there are a few ex-rolla cup cars, AE102,(N3) still around, and I spoke to a couple of guys who just bought their's and there going for around $6K ready to race... bargin as the suspension only are worth $5k (proflex) 2nd hand. if upgrading to P3 these then become very expensive keeping the 7A... BUT these will be able to run a 20V now due to a 40 page report I submitted to ARcomm last month, they had never seen a submission like that, a verbal/email OK was issued, the paper side is just being sorted. The report incl 20V conversions that I have done, the different 20V models available in Jap, exact measurements of the X-members, under pinnings etc.. It really blew them away, but was just general knowlegde to us guys here!! Nothing new.. anyway, Advanatages, Freedom in exhaust and inlet, but not stroke and only allowed a 0.6 increase in bore.... and way better than a 7AFE.....But Coming down to ultimate tinkering... the AE86, The rules are as Ben said, Imagine a stroked and bored, Big Port, 4AGE running quad injection? It'll have my car shakin' in it boots when comparing Hp, My 7A only makes 110Hp@wheels and lugs around a 1000kg shell, but the AE86 shows some 160HP+ potential with those rules..... you'll need some big and hairy's to drive that flat out
