A lot of populist rhetoric really.
Errors, creative use of statistics, neglect of aspects of the truth and a very liberal interpretation of the Bible didn't help along the way. The rather optimistic promises reminded me of Bob Hawke's 1987 catch cry of, "No child shall be living in poverty by 1990." The "Vote John Kerry" message at the end with direct links to his website capped it off for me. Conspicuous by its absence was the lack of mention of gun control.
I absolutely detest Bush et al, but the 911 attacks were the result of decades of arrogant self serving US foreign policy. The health system there has been in disrepair for at least 2 decades and their education system has been shambolic from time eternity (graduates start their first jobs with a 6 figure debt). The Enron scandal did break whilst Bush was president, but the preceding 5 years of deceit that resulted in the company's eventual demise occurred in the Clinton years. Their 400 subsidiary companies with Bahamian head offices were all established during the Clinton reign. Clinton pardoned a whole bunch of his white collar crime buddies at the end of his presidency. Clinton also made a mockery of gay rights with his "Don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding gays in the military. All in all, the US is a rather fucked up place.[/rant]
That said, the game was fun. Hilary Duff fingerbang.
