everyone I've talked to says the same thing. Don't skimp out on the helmets. This was especially true when I was getting into motorbikes, but also true when I seriously looked into racing. The $80 will get you past the judges at the local drags, but at cams events they'll most likely laugh at you, and if there comes a time when the helmet has to fulfil it's function.... well, who knows?
