22RE Rod bearing issue

I am about to purchase a set of Pistons and rings, rod bearings, main bearings and thrust bearings for a friend. Unfortunately he does not have a vehicle owners manual and the information he is giving is insufficient because he doesn't know where to look for the information and a mechanic is giving him some other information which the Toyota Dealer is not relating to.
Here is the information that is given by the mechanic,
Rod bearings: 1A bearing and 3 B bearings.
if anyone has information that will help us in getting the correct info to identify the bearings. It is a 1991 Toyota 4WD Pick Up with 22RE engine.
